Companies Sign Seven Figure, Comprehensive Esports Sponsorship Agreement for 2018

Toronto, ON: April 12, 2018 (TSX: CGX) – WorldGaming and subsidiary Collegiate StarLeague today announced details around a comprehensive sponsorship agreement with JUICE Battery® (“JUICE®”), a new battery brand focused on powering today’s high-drain consumer devices. The new partnership names JUICE as presenting sponsor for a variety of esports tournaments and programming throughout the year, including WorldGaming’s 2018 Canadian Championship Series and Collegiate StarLeague’s 2018 North American Collegiate Grand Finals.
A perfect fit for the world of competitive gaming and esports, JUICE is the first company to offer batteries built specifically for gamers that stay stronger and last longer during use than their alkaline counterpart. The company is also the first to offer USB charging so gamers can recharge their batteries anywhere, just like a smartphone, while drastically reducing potential battery replacement costs and environmental waste.
As part of the agreement, WorldGaming and Collegiate StarLeague will provide JUICE with ongoing activations and engagement opportunities for their brand with competitive gaming events and enthusiasts across North America. The new partnership also provides access to promotional and advertising opportunities through activations at ‘live’ events as well as for online programming.
“JUICE is a progressively minded company who sees the massive opportunity of esports affiliations,” said Wim Stocks, Managing Director of WorldGaming. “They have a desire for empowering players and providing them with the tools they need to showcase their talent. Our new partnership will bring many great opportunities for JUICE to engage and connect with the coveted and hard-to-reach Millennial and Gen Z demographics, the mainstay audiences for esports.”

“We’re very excited to join forces with WorldGaming and become a part of the growing esports community across North America,” said Brent Meikle, founder of JUICE Battery. “We sold out online in our first activation with WorldGaming and, combined with orders from new retailers, we have already recovered our sponsorship investment. This is incredible proof of how brands can be leveraged within the esports industry, but we have just begun. I believe by the end of the year our results will exceed all expectations.”
JUICE adds to a growing list of companies partnering with WorldGaming and Collegiate StarLeague as the esports industry continues to gain momentum. Most recently, the MLSE’s NBA2K ELeague franchise, the Raptors Uprising GC, and WorldGaming announced a partnership that will bring players two new NBA 2K18 competitive video gaming tournaments in 2018.
