Turn 10 Studios’ Forza Motorsport 7 has many layers of progression. If you want to unlock high-end cars or gain level-specific discounts on vehicles, you’ll have to put in some work.
Two elements that go hand in hand are the Driver Levels and Collection Tier rating system. For you to unlock the late-game vehicles, you must rise through the ranks in both these categories.
Your Collection Tier will unlock new vehicles to purchase, but your Driver Level will unlock Milestone Rewards. Each increased level will offer three Milestone Rewards to chose from. The rewards being 50’000 CR, a free vehicle, or a Driver Suit.
The benefits of these rewards speak for themselves. Obtaining CR or a free vehicle goes a long way. Not having to purchase a specific car for 300’000 CR is rewarding of itself.
To obtain those level rewards, you will have to grind a bit. While the process does take time, there are a few ways to efficiently make use of your playtime.
No matter the race, coming in first will always reward you with the highest amount of XP possible. Depending on skill level, you may want to turn down the difficulty at a loss of bonus CR. Doing so will allow you to overtake the positions of opposing Drivatars, enabling you a better chance of reaching first place.
Obviously, the more you race the more XP you will earn upon completion. Going through the Forza Driver’s Cup, for instance, you’ll want to look at which races are shorter or offer fewer laps.
A long endurance race won’t significantly change the pay out enough to justify the time spent. Instead, concentrate on the shorter burst races and you’ll see an increase of Driver Levels before you know it.
Specific mods will add a boost in XP for a race. These boosts range from adding anywhere between 500 XP to 1500 XP. The mods providing 500 XP are not all that uncommon, while the higher rewarding mods take a bit of patience to acquire.
It is not recommended to spend CR solely for XP boosting mods. Purchasing mods through the Prize Crates will unlock a random selection of mods. Most are focused on rewarding players CR bonuses. The likelihood of unlocking an XP specific mod on demand is a bit slim.
Instead, save those XP mods until you have a good number. Apply multiple XP boosting mods to stack their effects. Some to look out for are Battle Scars, which will reward you both XP and CR. Another is Lockdown. Each will give you a payout of +70% CR and 1500 XP.
Free Play is a great way to concentrate on XP progression. Forza Motorsport 7 has a slew of options to customize a track and race to your specifications. Going into the Setup options, you can bring the time of each race down and grind out more races during your play session.
Completion of each race regardless of the challenge will net you a decent amount of XP. You may even turn off Drivatars for a more laid back and stress-free experience.
Changing the race type to a Drift challenge will offer a higher payout, but does require a bit more skill than the typical circuit race. Test out the different race types and get a feel for what you find is more comfortable for you.
With these tips, you’ll be well on your way to unlocking new Milestone Rewards. It is up to personal preference which rewards to choose. As you get more comfortable with the grind within Forza Motorsport 7, you’ll be well on your way to earning more rewards, and getting behind the wheel of some very stunning vehicles.
