NBA 2K19 is almost upon us, and with it comes the highly sought after player rankings. These are the NBA elite that you’ll want to stack your MyTeam lineup with, and build a franchise around. As the season progresses each player’s ratings can fluctuate depending on their on-court performance, so keep it locked to WGN for big shifts in player ratings.
The list below is the 90+ overall rated players that have been revealed so far by 2K, let’s hit the hardcourt with the NBA’s elite.
LeBron James, Lakers – 98 (Small Forward, Power Forward)
A surprise to literally no one, Lebron tops NBA 2K19 ’s player pool with an overall rating of 98. He is also the cover star for NBA 2K19’s 20th Anniversary edition, which brings with it dozens of virtual items dedicated to King James.
James made some serious waves this off season opting out with his contract with the Cavaliers to move to sunny California and join the LA Lakers. Regarded by some as the greatest player of all time, Lebron has 4 NBA MVP Awards, 3 Final MVP awards and is a 3 time NBA Champion. He’s clearly a safe bet if you are looking for a power forward.
Anthony Davis, Pelicans — 94 (Power Forward/Center)
Davis, in a two way tie for second overall, brings a lot to the hardcourt as an agile skilled shooter, with a massive reach. The 5 time NBA all-star has a great defensive IQ and can do a little bit of everything, making him one of the most versatile players in the game.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bucks — 94 (Forward / Guard)
A native of Athens, Greece and the cover star for the regular edition of NBA 2K19, the Buck’s playmaker rounds out the three-way tie for this year’s second spot. Antetokounmpo’s skill is almost mythical, drawing comparisons to the great King James himself. Giannis is always a threat in the paint, his massive strides and long arms make it seem like he can dunk from anywhere. Keep a close eye on him this season, as his stock in 2K is surely to rise.
Kawhi Leonard, Raptors – 94 (Small Forward)
One of the greatest basketball talents in the world, Leonard slots into second with a 94 overall. Kawhi was recently dealt from the Spurs to the Raptors for DeMar DeRozan in a summer blockbuster that shook the basketball world. Leonard’s ratings didn’t suffer as he maintains the second highest overall rating in the game.
Russell Westbrook, OKC Thunder — 93 (Point Guard)
Coming off winning the NBA’s MVP Award last season, Westbrook looks to continue his torrid pace this season. The 7 time All-Star is an offensive powerhouse that attacks the rim every chance he gets, creating plenty of rebound opportunities at every turn.
Karl-Anthony Towns, Timberwolves — 91 (Center)
A durable a versatile player, Towns is also a great passer and rebounder who creates plenty of opportunities for his teammates.
DeMarcus Cousins, Warriors — 90 (Power Forward, Center)
During the offseason Cousins joined the back-to-back NBA Champion Golden State Warriors, adding more grit and skill to the powerhouse team. The physically imposing center is great at bolstering defence and dominating in the paint.
Damian Lillard, Trail Blazers — 90 (Point Guard)
An elite scorer and great playmaker, this 3 time NBA All-Star provides the offensive push his team needs to get to the next level. Lillard can hit threes and drive the net with the best of them.
