The Injustice2 Pro Series is now well underway with competitors racking up points to qualify themselves for the World finals in Los Angeles on September 17th. The Injustice2 Pro series is the premier esports league for fighting game fans looking to test their skills against the best in the world.

The Pro Series consists of a series of both online and LAN qualification events in which players can earn points that will seed them into the world final. The top 16 competitors from around the globe will be invited, so aspiring competitors must enter into all the events they can in order to have the most opportunities to accumulate points.

North America’s initial events have concluded with LAN’s in Chicago and Florida as well as an online event for the west coast. North American competition will resume at the Evolution Fighting Championship, the biggest fighting game event of the year, July 14-16 in Las Vegas.

Although the title is a new one there is already support for the game as an esport from both the developer and the fighting game community. The Pro Series itself is developer run and fans have responded to exciting and surprising gameplay. This was especially true at the last major event in Orlando, you can feel the excitement in this clip

The winner of the last major tournament in Florida was a strong competitor in the original Injustice, Nicolas ‘WhiteBoi’ Andersen. He played through the event using Scarecrow, a character many felt was too weak to be played competitively. His performance has demonstrated otherwise, and has players now searching for other things the meta may have been too ready to dismiss. The Joker was another character that was dismissed early on that saw great success in Orlando, shaking up the meta for future events. He was compensated for his victory with enough points to put him in 3rd for the overall standings and walked away with $20 000.
