WorldGaming’s Rocket League Canadian Championship is quickly advancing to the playoff round.  The qualifying team, Leviosa is taking advantage of this time to continue practising and preparing themselves for July 21st.

The Quebec-based Rocket League team is comprised of Luckyman, Null and team captain Alexandre “Atomas” Corriveau.  While the three players may not have gone through a tournament together, they seem very confident that each player helps balance the team.  We had a chat with Atomas to get his thoughts on the success his team has faced so far.

Q: Can you introduce us to your team?

A: Salutations, my name’s Atomas and my partners are Luckyman and Null.  We are all French Canadians living in Quebec and this is the first tournament we’ve participated in together.

Q: How did the team form?

A: Null and I have been playing together for almost a year now.  We’ve played with a couple of different players in a various tournaments.  This time around, we decided to team up with Luckyman who we’ve known for a while.

Q: How does the team capitalize on each member’s individual strengths as a player?

A: Luckyman’s core strength would be his individual playmaking ability and Null has his offensive pressure.  For me, my stength is to support any way I can on both sides of the field.

Q: How do you feel with the team’s performances during qualifiers?

A: Pretty satisfied. Since this is our first tournament together we didn’t have any expectations coming into it.  We were happy making it to top 16 and we were even happier getting the fourth seed.

Q: Are there any particular strategies the team has been using during the qualifiers?

A: Nothing in particular.  We rely a lot on 3-man passing plays and offensive possession/pressure.  Pretty standard stuff.  We don’t rely on any complicated strategies because we don’t feel like we need to.  A simple strategy that’s perfectly executed can go a long way.

Q: What does your practise schedule look like now?

A: We’ll keep playing together as much as we can in any form we can whether it be online tournaments, scrims or ranked.

Q: Which team are you looking forward to playing against?

A: Definitely Taroco’s Croissant Bois team and Incognito with DudeWithThenose.  They play extremely well and we’ll be ecstatic once we beat them!

Q: What are some important tips you can give to Rocket League players?

A: Surround yourself with players better than you until you surpass them.  Once you do, find better players. Rinse and repeat.

Q: Where can fans keep up with you online?

A: You can follow me on Twitch and on Twitter.  Otherwise, find Null on Twitter and Luckyman on Twitter swell.
